Dear AUUF Member,

Each spring the members of the Auburn Unitarian Universalist Fellowship devote one Sunday service to the business of our community.  We gather to approve the budget for the upcoming year and to elect our lay leaders.  This is important work as a vibrant faith community must attend to its finances and other business matters.  This year our Business Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, May 25th and will commence after we sing the children out to play.  Our agenda includes a financial report, the minister’s report, the president’s report, and the annual election.  We will vote on the 2008-2009 budget and the election of board members and committee chairs.  More information on the items requiring a vote is provided below.

This year I hope you will join us on May 25th and participate in our discussions and voting.  However, if you are unable to be present, please participate by sending in your Proxy Ballot, included with this letter.  If you are voting by Proxy Ballot, please mark your ballot, place $0.42 postage on the front (it’s too big for postcard rates) and mail by Thursday, May 22.

Sharon Roberts

President, AUUF Board of Trustees

BALLOT ITEMS:

2008-2009 BUDGET.   A strong faith community requires generous financial support from its membership and once again, our members have pledged in excess of our canvass goals.  Our theme this year is “Investing in leadership” and the generous pledges of our members will provide the necessary financial support for a DRE, fair compensation for our minister and leadership training for our lay leaders in the coming year.  Thanks to your generosity we will also have some monies to apply to paying down our mortgage and to the Long Term Growth Plan.  For details of the budget, please see the enclosed budget page.

OFFICERS, TRUSTEE AND COMMITTEE POSITIONS:  This year our Nominations Committee has worked very hard to fill a number of positions as many of our officers and committee chairs have chosen to step down and take a much deserved break.  As this letter is being written, Debbie Haile (2009) and Billie Compton (2010) will continue as Trustees but the Nominating Committee is still working to fill the third Trustee position as well as the positions of Sunday Services and Denominational Affairs chairs.  Please refer to the Proxy Ballot for a full listing of officers, trustees, and committee positions to be elected.

Financial information is available before the meeting. You must be a registered, logged in user to this site to view.
